My baby gal .. 2 Years

I know its funny..
I know its unusual..
I know what you might be thinking...
But she really is my baby.
Layla Mae turned 2 today!
My little puppy is now 2!!
So what do people do when its their date of birth?

Thats right!! 

They have a birthday party!

So today after church Juan helped me to make doggy/human cakes.

I had forgotten of this day, but yesterday Juan took her to her comprehension exam at the vets

and when I looked through her papers I realized that today was the big 2!

So due to the short notice on my part we only invited Hachi and Linda. 

Next year ill be more prepared.

We gave them their cakes, sang the happy birthday song and Nina blew out the candles.

We laughed at how funny they all acted when given frosting..

" really?? can i eat it? your giving my human food??"

and got an even bigger laugh when Layla had a full 6 cup cakes and went and stole Lindas untouched cake.

When all was done mom cleaned the mess left on the floor and 

the rest of us sat to talk and cuddle with our doggys. 

I realized just how short life is. 

I know shes a dog..

who does a b day party for a dog???

ME! 

We are her whole world. She waits for her humans to come home..

the least I can do is show her that she is still a part of mine. 

She has little time left. Danes live short lives and I know that every year she comes nearer and nearer 

to that day when ill have to hold her close and let her go. 

The thought makes me feel empty..

someone once asked if we thought dogs went to Heaven with us 

Or a special doggy Heaven..

I dont know..

All I know that for me Heaven wont be Heaven unless I have everyone I love with me...

and Layla is my first baby. 

If she isnt there, Ill be packing up my bags and moving to 

doggy Heaven.
